What does the future of AI look like?

On November 26, Richard Sutton, 2024 Turing Award recipient and a pioneer of reinforcement learning, visited Peking University to discuss “The Future of AI: The Era of Experience and the Age of Design” with students of the Turing Class.

Sutton shared insights on reinforcement learning, self-play, and continual learning, emphasizing that future AI will grow through real-world experience rather than static datasets. He also envisioned the rise of “artificial personas” and deeper integration between AI and society.
